Scientists from the UK have found that people who are aware that they are sleeping and not awake during sleep can solve problems in real life more effectively. The task of the study was to detect the connection between dreams and insight.

Far from many have the ability to realize being in a dream. The brain of such people is able to quickly determine that they are asleep, since events that are as dreams in real life, as a rule, are impossible or meaningless. Similar abilities manifest in them when solving problems while awake: such people can quickly detect hiding prompts or existing contradictions. Scientists argue that in order to realize a dream, you need to try to go beyond the pseudo-reality created by sleep, and understand that what is happening around is unreal.

The observation group included 68 people aged 18-25. First, they answered questions about the presence of lucid dreams. Then they were offered to solve 30 special tasks containing three words, each of which was connected with the word solution, thus forming a new word. The results showed that people with lucid dreams by 25% solved problems more than others.
