According to Texas researchers, the extra pounds that people gain during New Year’s celebrations do not go anywhere. Moreover, even fasting days will not help gourmets to gain the same weight.

Scientists in the course of observations found that on average, every person who is not able to restrain himself at the festive table, annually as a result of the New Year holidays gaining an extra kilogram of weight, which he is not able to get rid of in the future. And over 10 years, ten extra pounds, respectively, has been accumulating. Even intense physical activity will not help to slow down the process of weight gain.

This phenomenon is explained by the fact that at the New Year's table a person receives such an amount of calories that not a single gym can rid him of. What is interesting: all this concerns, as a rule, men. According to experts, the reason for this is the fact that women spend most of the holidays at the stove, and men at the table or in front of the TV.

Scientists conducted an interesting experiment in which 48 men and 100 women aged 18 to 60 took part. Half of the study participants adhered to a healthy lifestyle, the other half of the volunteers led a normal, measured life.

The calculation of the results of the experiment showed that all the people who participated in it gained extra weight. To a greater extent, this, however, affected those who were overweight.

Some of the participating volunteers were determined to lose weight and regain their former shape. However, increased physical activity did not give the expected results.
